About Kadomaru
Our goal is just to deliver our software to your devices through the World Wide Web.
In 1994, Cynthia Closkey, the editor for NXApp, wrote:
Developers create new tools for themselves every day. Sometimes they make them available to others, but often they keep them private. Maybe a tool isn’t “polished” enough for public consumption. Or maybe it seems too single-purpose to be worth sharing. For whatever reasons, the advantages the tool offers aren’t extended to [others].
We believe that shipping the software we make is better than keeping it to ourselves, even if it’s not polished enough or too single-purpose. Our software may not be perfect, which is why we don’t charge money for it. If you choose, you can support our efforts to unlock additional—mostly aesthetic—functionality.
Our Name
Kadomaru means rounded corner.
Rounded corners represent the time and intention to make things friendly and approachable. Our name reminds us that in a world of unfriendly software, we aim to be the opposite.
